The Israeli Ambassador to Greece, Noam Katz, was upset about the presence of “antisemitic graffiti” in Athens. In a recent interview with the Greek newspaper Kathimerini, he criticized Athens city officials for allegedly not doing enough to remove graffiti that made Israeli occupier tourists feel “uncomfortable.” He framed this as a failure of the municipal authorities to protect its visitors and manage organized minority behavior in public spaces. Haris Doukas, the Mayor of Athens said, “We do not accept lessons in democracy from those who kill civilians. Athens, the capital of a democratic country, fully respects its visitors and supports the right of its citizens to free expression. As the municipal authority of the city, we have demonstrated our active opposition to violence and racism, and we do not accept lessons in democracy from those who kill civilians and children waiting in food lines, from those who lead dozens of people in Gaza to death every day — through bombs, hunger, and thirst.” Sourcr: @anadoluagency
